Lowell D. Pratt Jr., CFA
President
Lowell’s knowledge and skills span all aspects of the investment management business. Starting in 1986 in Operations and Trading, he became a Portfolio Manager in 1992, was promoted to Director of Analysis in 1996 and then to President in 2003. Lowell holds a CFA designation, a BS from Virginia Tech and an MS from Boston University.

Sheffield C. Richey Jr., CFA, CFP
Portfolio Manager
Sheff joined the company in 2007 with over 20 years of investment management experience. He is impressively credentialed (a JD, MBA, CFA and CFP) and most importantly has years of experience as a Burney client, giving him thorough knowledge of our investment discipline and approach.

Robert A. (Tony) Hardesty Jr.
Director of Business Development
Tony brought over 10 years of marketing experience to the firm when he joined us in 2005. He earned a BA from George Mason University, holds several broker-dealer licenses, and is a Registered Investment Advisor Representative.

Fariba Shahbaz
Associate Portfolio Manager
Fariba is a senior member of our Operations and Trading team. She possesses a BS in Business Management and many years of investment experience, having been a part of the firm since 1989.

Bridjett Fountain
Associate Portfolio Manager
Bridjett leads our largest Trading team and has years of investment experience, having joined the firm in 1997. She holds a BS from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Yevgeniy Gushcha, PhD
Associate Portfolio Manager
Yev joined Burney in 2000 as an Equity Analyst upon graduation from American University and is our technology and productivity expert. He holds a PhD in Economics from Kuban State University in Krasnodar, Russia.
